Strategic Planning for Your Provider Workforce

DATE: Wednesday, April 19, 2017
TIME: 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (PST)

Community Health Centers are facing a workforce crisis. They are competing for critical talent in a dynamic environment where the primary care team is transforming from volume to value. In order to keep up with the demands of both the marketplace and the organization, it is important to be able to answer this vital strategic question: how many of what kinds of providers do we need and when do we need them? Strategic workforce planning is a process that assesses current and future workforce capacity and capability requirements based upon business strategy and creates actionable plans and goals. This 90-minute session will share the why and how of this approach and provide examples of how it has been used by AltaMed Health Services to improve workforce outcomes. In addition, the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved will share new tools they developed to identify strategies that improve recruitment and retention.
