Working Together: 501(c)(3)s & 501(c)(4)s

DATE: March 21, 2017
TIME: 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. (PST)

CPCA is offering this multi-part training program to teach health centers and regional associations about lobbying and advocacy to ensure that they can help influence the future of healthcare policy in our state and nation. Due to a generous sponsorship of these events by CaliforniaHealth+ Advocates and the Regional Associations of California, there is no cost to participate.

Nonprofits can, and often should, work in coalitions with other organizations. Working in a coalition allows you to have a greater impact and lends credibility to your efforts. It also allows organizations to share financial, staffing and organizing resources. It’s important to know, however, that there are different advocacy rules that apply to coalitions. The guidelines for lobbying and election-related activity vary depending on how the coalition is organized and funded, as well as the structures of the participating organizations. This webinar will explore relationships between 501(c)(3)s and 501(c)(4)s and help participants understand which tax status is right for them.
